Gilt bronze, late 19th century, cast in the style of the Ming Dynasty, with six-character inscription to the back. The slender figure is modeled wearing a flowing garment adorned with beaded jewelry, large pendant earrings and a crown, the face bears a smiling serene expression. Lotus design inscribed on the bottom. This statue would likely have been in a monastery and later gifted to a prominent official. The raised character line on the rear of the figure translates "Produced during the reign of Xuande during the Great Ming Dynasty. "

The stones, probably coral, which once adorned the bodhisattva, are now missing; overall some loss of gilding; bottom re-soldered.
