20th century, the first being Ashanti, allover ochre stain or paint, the back of the figure's discoidal head carved to depict two rats and a frog beneath a mushroom (17.25 in.) (a few chips to the finish); the second work with a label reading "Fanti Fertility Doll," ebonized wood with areas of hammered metal decoration (31.25 in.) (light wear to high points).
