The six piece service including coffee pot (12.25 in.), (2) teapots, a cream jug, sugar bowl with cover, and an open waste bowl. Each piece with mark for Bailey & Co. of Philadelphia (circa 1837-1857); the two teapots also with an elephant mark for the makers Taylor & Lawrie, also of Philadelphia. Each with a bright-cut shield form cartouche with period monogram "THJW."

Taylor & Lawrie developed an important partnership with Bailey & Co. between 1837 and 1857. They made silver primarily for retail by Bailey & Co. before Bailey & Co. began crafting their own silver in 1852.
