Japanese Satsuma Paneled Vase

Circa 1870s, extensive gilt as well as raised enamel decoration, (2) sides with figural reserves and (2) with animal and floral reserves. The most interesting scene depicts frolicking monkeys, one of which is throwing fruit down to his expectant comrades.
