An Important Song Dynasty Ding Ware Dish

Circular form raised on a short ring foot, with an almost transparent glaze over a free-flowing hand carved lotus design, the dish was fired upside down and has an appropriate rim free of glaze.

Ding wares were favored during the Northern Song Dynasty.
