Two Indonesian Tribal Swords

Both mid-20th century, the first being a ceremonial sword from the Kalimantan region of Borneo consisting of an engraved and pierced steel blade with a horn grip, this weapon sheathed with a subsidiary knife in a heavily painted wooden scabbard decorated with beads, animal teeth and fur (DOA 30 in.); the second piece a Toraja blade from Sulawesi having a carved black wooden hilt, steel blade and cane-wrapped wooden scabbard (23.75 DOA).

Both show wear consistent with age; the blades are free of rust; good estate condition overall.
