17th century, pine, rectangular case having a lid with blacksmith forged iron strap hinges with tulip finial, with clasp, open interior, geometric relief carving.

By descent, originated in Ireland with the family.

Excellent patina and surface consistent with age; fine original iron work.

Loss to side edge of rear right leg; loss at lower edge of left rear foot; heavy wear, use and shrinkage cracks to lid.
