Japanese Sake Kettle or Teapot with Lacquer Lid

Edo period (1615-1868), with decorative bumps called arare or hailstone pattern, flat open-fluted spout, the thick balanced handle has incised stylized flowers and decorative hinges join the handle to the teapot, the red lacquer lid has a flower petal finial.
