Granddaughter of Job Holmes (Plymouth, MA 1728-1800), a Mayflower descendent, Jerusha Rawson Holmes was born January 22, 1804 in Oxford County, Maine, to James Holmes (1759-1827) of Plymouth County, MA and Jerusha Rawson (1769-1848) of Worcester County, MA. Both Job's and James' births are listed in
Mayflower Births and Deaths, Vol.II and their military service in the
Massachusetts Soldiers and Sailors in the Revolutionary War.
