Qing dynasty (1644-1912), 19th century, colors, metallics and ink on silk, oversized pair of ancestor portraits, both figures are seated on hall style chairs with marble sides and marble footrests dressed in winter purple court robes lined with fur and with a golden pheasant insignia badge representing them as a 2nd rank of court officials, very finely painted details on facial features on both and texture of the fabric and especially the softness of the fur and details of jewelry and embroidery, mounted on silk and framed identically in finely polished wooden rounded edge frames under glass.
SS 55.5 x 29.25 in.; DOA 72.75 x 35 in.
Very good condition with minor cracking to the silk background.
