Large Martaban Style Jar

Chinese or Burmese, the ovoid body with all over camel brown glaze rises to a narrow neck and flared thick rim, the sides decorated with dragons and floral patches in relief, with eight looped handles at the shoulders, comes with carved wooden stand.

From the collection of a gentleman who worked for the state department starting in the late 1950s and later for the United Nations. He and his wife lived in many places in Southeast Asia and also in Ethiopia.
