Large Satsuma Covered Jar Signed Gyokuzan

Japanese, Meiji period (1868-1912), bottomside with "Shimazu" circular crest above inscription that reads "Satsuma-yaki Gyokuzan," applied gilt and colors, body is decorated with Buddhist and religious figures, some raised over surface, rests on three lobed feet and topped with cover.

Very good condition with some loss to the gilding on the finial of the cover; slight wear and loss over the body of the jar.
