Western NC Pottery, Two Molasses Jars

19th century, both with a dark glaze and strong rutile streaks, one is hand inscribed "5" and features a band of incised line decoration that continues beneath the applied strap handles (15.5 in.); the second jug is inscribed "4".

No condition concerns; the four gallon jug has an original glaze filled gash to the spout.
