George III Slant Front Desk

Late 18th century, mahogany, mahogany veneers, pine secondary wood, the slant lid opens to reveal a well appointed interior with valanced cubby holes and short drawers flanking a central prospect, all drawers with light wood string inlay and turned ivory knobs. The case has (4) cock-beaded drawers above a bracket foot base.

A fine grade of figured mahogany, ivory escutcheons to the drawers.

Shrinkage cracks to lid; ink stain to desk interior; replaced brasses; patches to upper rear edge of top.
