Florentine Style Antique Ink Well

19th century, gilt bronze mounts, the square body decorated in quadrants featuring flowers, birds and dolphins in relief on a steel background, the domed and hinged cover with figural finial, double pen rests on either side of body, all raised on four finely cast paw feet, with glass liner; the cover signed "E. F. Caldwell & Co., of NY."
