Circa 1840, with standing female figure in classical dress, modeled as clasping a letter to her chest while bending over a table of flowers supported by winged caryatids, the whole resting on a shaped burnished steel base with gilt metal ormolu mounts and front bas-relief plaque of seated females in classical dress, flanked by two cupids, all raised on six bun feet; enamel face, signed "Galle / Rue Vivienne, Paris", time and strike; with a pendulum, no key.
