Portrait Miniature of George Washington

Late 19th century, hand-painted on ivory after a portrait of Washington by John Trumbull, inscribed "J.T." at center right, presented in the likely original antique mahogany frame. Image 4.5 x 3 3/8 in.; DOA 10.5 x 9.5 in.

The verso retains an old paper label indicating this portrait miniature was included in the Opening Exhibition of the Museum of the Brooklyn Institute of Arts & Sciences in 1897.

Old split to frame; portrait with no apparent condition concerns.
