Likely early 20th century, calligraphy signed in lower left of left end panel, a black ink and wash Chinese-style landscape on gold silk laid to paper and mounted on a folding six panel screen, the gold silk on paper painting is mounted over a second painting mounted to the screen, partially visible under a tear to the top painting in the fourth screen panel. Paper backing to screen with scattered fan decorations, wood frame, and black lacquer top, bottom and outer edge borders. Brass top and side elongated plates and matching round rosettes spacers attached the lacquer side edges to the screen. Each panel measures 67 1/2 in x 25 3/8 in.

Top mounted painting covers older writing paper.

The sections of the screen are separating from each other and there is lacquer loss to the frame; portions of the gold silk paper backed painting are separating from the frame. There is toning and minor tears to the painting. One screen panel has an attached bottom shim. The paper backing has peeling from the frame. The condition of the hidden painting is unknown.
