Unidentified Mid 19th Century Saber

No markings, 35.25 in blade, 40.75 in. overall, ridged brass guard with pronounced quillon, smooth pommel extending the length of a wooden grip. No scabbard present.

Said to have been found in a Virginia estate, thus making Confederate usage a possibility.

Age cracks to the wooden grip; light oxidation to the ferrous elements; evidence of old cleanings. Good condition.
