Oil on canvas, inscribed on the verso "J. F. Hanks / Pinxt / 1852," quarter length portrait of a young brother with his sister in an interior with a landscape view beyond, interesting to note that the young girl holds a leather bound book and does not make eye contact with the viewer, presented in the likely original gilt frame.
