19th century, black lacquer with gilt stenciled highlights likely over a beechwood frame, having a button upholstered cushion over a scrolled seat rail supported by "X" form base with outswept legs, the legs centered with stylized gilt detail, turned stretcher, the whole resting on four gold tone ball feet.
