James W. Carr (1847-1924) operated a foundry on Richmond's Cary Street well into the 20th century.
Internal repair with modern bolt; handles somewhat loose; oxidation from exposure; flaking white paint reveals underlying coat of silver paint (as seen on a Carr bench owned by the Virginia Historical Society).
