Converted to percussion, .69 caliber, 41.5 in. round barrel with three bands, 56.5 in. overall length, iron hardware throughout, lockplate marked US over a sunburst motif, N STARR below in arc, MIDDTN / CONN / 1837 behind the hammer, US and inspector marking stamped on the walnut stock's left side.
Chips to the stock behind the tang and at buttplate; powder corrosion to the barrel at the breech; splendid original patina to iron elements; lacking ramrod. Overall good attic condition.
