19th century, oak, relief carved crest rail in the form of a crown, spiral twist stiles and stretcher base, original leather over upholstered seat and back, raised on carved seat with brass casters.

These chairs were purportedly given to Roland Brotherhood by Queen Victoria in gratitude for his work at Balmoral Castle and on the railroad from London to Bristol.

Fair condition with losses and wear to upholstery; original dry surface with wear and some looseness to stretcher base; one crest rail with chip and loss.
