Two Japanese Yuzen Birodo Paintings

Unsigned, early 20th century, on cut velvet, the first depicts a pair of ducks (SS 21 x 20.5 in.; DOA 23 x 22.5 in.); the second painting captures a group of wading cranes (SS 25 x 22.5 in.; DOA 27 x 24.5 in.). Presented in gilt wooden frames with beaded interior borders. The backs of both retain a label from the Ferguson Art Gallery of La Jolla, California.
