Lot Details & Additional Photographs
A clever conversion of an 18th century French sedan chair to a useful display cabinet. The chair, of vertical form, features a wooden frame highlighted by gilt scrolls and running floral designs, the single hinged door is glazed above a panel painted with a courting couple in a landscape setting. The interior of the sedan chair lacks the original seat and has been fitted with glass shelves, the whole raised on curved "runner" feet.
