Signed on the base in blue underglaze with an "R" for decorator Helena Wolfsohn, circa 1843 - 1900, additionally blind stamped S&S, the white fields of the work are punctuated with various shades of blue, gilt accents and subtle flesh tones, the pierced bowl rests on a standard composed of two maidens, the whole set on a circular base raised on three acanthus leaf feet.

Two hairline fractures on the bowl's rim; examination under black light shows 1 in. repairs to two ribs directly below the rim.
