Early 19th century, English import, marked WARRENTED at the ricasso, ivory grip, the curved blade is saw-toothed for 8 in. and is etched with gilt floral sprays, military motifs and a standing American Indian, all gilt brass hilt, the knuckleguard incorporating a pierced foliate design and both langets bearing an eagle/shield device.
Blade 30.5 in.; DOA 36 in.
Lacking scabbard; wear to gilt leaves underlying brass exposed; moderate rusting to the blade; the grip somewhat loose. Original attic condition.
