Late 19th century, cast bronze in three parts mounted atop a hand-hollowed stepped hardwood base, unmarked, depicting a man with tattooed thighs restraining a buffalo.

Estate of Henry Marcelle, Westport, CT Mr. Marcelle was a Sinclair Oil Corp. executive, first hired in 1922. He acquired these lots while traveling for business in China and Japan from the late 1930s through the 1950s.
