New England, pine, dovetailed rectangular form, the dome top attached by leather strap hinges (now broken); the front, top, and sides are painted in a deep reddish brown ground with concentric circles and line decoration in yellow, green, and orange paint; the central circle inscribed "Feb. the 4 / 1821 / DV."
