Oil on canvas, unsigned, a late autumn landscape in the Northeast is depicted. The painting is on its original stretcher which is inset into a later gilt and linen frame. A veteran of the National Academy of Design and the Art Students' League, Eaton was a master of Impressionist landscapes and became well known for his work as a Tonalist.
