Circa late 19th - early 20th century, one stamped with a knight's helmet on the ricasso while the other is marked with a crowned shield emblazoned with a "Z." Both swords have narrow blunted blades below huge velvet and hide lined baskets, the grips are wrapped in ray skin. Facial scars inflicted by such weapons were regarded a badge of honor.
Blades 34 and 34.5 in.; LOA 42 in.
Substantial nicks to one blade; the basket fabric on both weapons is stained with slight deterioration.
