Two Antique Japanese Kaiken Daggers

The first with ivory grip and sheath, both with incised floral designs and brass mounts, blade 4.5 in., 10.5 in. overall length; the second with tortoise shell grip and sheath, ivory pommel, scabbard tip and two hairpins, blade 5.75 in., 11 in.

Discreet weapons such as these were often worn by women of the Samurai class for protection.

Fine condition with pleasing natural patina on all surfaces.
