Sophie Brannan (CA, 1877-1960), Little Trio

Oil on card, unsigned, charming image of three young girls standing in a grove, housed in a period gilt wood frame. Sophie Marston Brannan was born in Mountain View, California, but grew up in San Francisco. A precocious child, she began her art studies at age 7 in the Mark Hopkins Institute in San Francisco. She later went to Paris and New York to continue her studies and exhibit her work.
