Circa 1840's, alkaline glazed stoneware jug with kaolin slip decoration, gallon capacity "1/2" surrounded by slip decorated cartouche resembling flower head, with stem and stylized leaves.

A rare size with nice overall glaze and slip decoration done in Edgefield, SC at the Collin Rhodes Factory.

Very minor nick to spout and very minor base nicks.
