Classical Bronze Samovar, 19th century

Wide urn form vessel with inner heating element is raised on a triangular plinth and with finely cast dolphin form supports, engine turned bands to waist and mouth, two mermaid figures on either side hold shell for ring handles, a fully formed conch shell sits on the plinth, the removable cover with pomegranate finial, the whole raised on three ball feet.

17 x 13 in.

Very attractive warm brown patina.

Minor misshaping to cover (still fits tightly), minor surface abrasions.
