Orientalist Miniature Painting, att. Pierre Dufaux

Oval form within a wooden shadowbox frame, the white counter enamel with cerulean cirrus marking on undetermined surface, the painting depicts the lavish interior of a Turkish Harem, the inhabitants attended by a Blackamoor. Lush tropical foliage and streaming fountain in the background. Verso paper label in somewhat faded ink reads "Painted by Pierre Dufaux precious gift made to Mademoiselle by Mr. Pierre Dufaux 3 January 1851".

DOA 4.25 x 4.75 in. SS 2 x 2 3/8 in.

Paper backing partially removed but not examined out of the frame.
