Thomas Sully (PA, 1783-1872), Mrs. Collins

Oil on canvas, unsigned, half length portrait of Mrs. Margaret (Morris) Collins (1792-1852), wife of Isaac Collins, whose daughter married John B. Bispham. Thomas Sully notes in his register that this portrait was painted in 1834 "for her son Mr. Bispham." Housed in the likely original sand textured and gilt wood frame with applied composition ornament.
