Oil on artist's board, signed at lower right "Robert Benney," inscribed on the verso "Mischa Elman / R.C.A. Victor / J. Walter Thompson / Arthur Blomquist - Art Director" and with Benney's New York studio address, presented in a later gilt wood frame. A famed child prodigy on the violin, Mischa Elman began performing with the Colonne Orchestra while still a boy. His first performance in the United States was at Carnegie Hall in 1908 and he and his family settled in New York permanently not long thereafter.

This painting was used by RCA in Life Magazine and other magazine advertisements.
