Possibly blacksmith made,14 in. blade, 18 3/8 in. overall, rudimentary sheet brass pommel and guard, file marks visible on the guard.

From a Scotland County, North Carolina estate.

This crude weapon was found with Lot 824, a German St. Basien musket stamped with likely South Carolina import markings.

Moderate corrosion to ferrous elements; heavy verdigris to the brass; the wooden grip has disintegrated.
