Civil War Folding Map for the Atlanta Campaign

Ink on waterproof paper, circa 1864, a penciled note on the back identifies this as a "Union officers march to Atlanta map." The doomed city and its environs are shown with military precision that details every hamlet, road, ford, creek, river and hill with railroads being outlined in red ink. The map would have originally folded to approximately 3 x 4 in.
