Rare NC Pottery One Quart Pottery Jar, N. Fox

Nicholas Fox (Chatham County, NC, 1797-1858), salt glazed stoneware storage jar with flat rim and very nice overall "orange peel" effect, stamped "N. Fox" and marked "1" for capacity.

Very early and small rim chip to underside of rim; some roughness to rim; otherwise, very good condition. Examination under black light reveals no condition concerns or restoration.
