Antique Japanese Censer

Three part form, late 19th-early 20th century, the lid surmounted by a Samurai and dragon engaged in combat, the right hand of the Samurai grasps a dagger, in readiness to strike; the center section is relief cast with an elderly scholar surrounded by dragons; the circular base is decorated with pierced leaf and nut motif and rests upon five dragon-form feet.
