Billie Ruth Sudduth (b.1945), Fibonacci Basket

"Fibonacci 8", composed of natural materials, reed splints form the basic construction with iron oxide to achieve the black coloring, the whole hand-dyed and hand woven without use of a mold. Signed on the bottom and dated 2004.

Included is the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts booklet cataloging the Sudduth exhibit, and the original price tag. In 1997, Sudduth was named a North Carolina Living Treasure, the state's highest honor for creative excellence.
