19th century, gilding and colors against a black background, with four panels down each side screen, three panels down the two middle screens, figures in courtly mountainous landscape decorate one side and birds and flowers decorate the reverse.
DOA: 76 x 61 in.
From a Connecticut family with the heir Anne Haislip.
The screen was photographed in the early part of the 20th century by the renowned photographer H. T. Koshiba in New York.
Cracking and loss to paint on the back side of the screen particularly on the outer edges of the panels; some repairs and repainting; some crackling to the paint on the front of the screen but very little loss or repainting.
