Chinese Five Compartment Covered Container

Antique, marked with red seals on top of the lid and on underside of the bottom, a brown wax Chinese Customs Permission seal is on underside of bottom, cover is painted with three ducks walking on green grass and among flowers, calligraphy verse on lid as well, the bottom is decorated on its side with more calligraphy followed by a seal and a branch of plum blossoms, could have been used as a food container or a painter's box.

Good estate condition; wear and rubbing to surface, gilding has been rubbed and has loss especially around the rims.
