Lucretia was born August 16, 1787 to John C. and Anna (Brooks) Benjamin in Stratford, CT. She married George Bradish in Staten Island, NY on December 17, 1814. Originally from Salem, MA, Bradish was a successful planter and river pilot in Plaquemines Parish near New Orleans, LA. Together they raised their family at Magnolia Plantation on the Mississippi River.
