Arnold & Dent Two-Day Marine Chronometer

English, mid-19th century, the 3.5 in. dial engraved "Arnold & Dent. / 84. Strand London No 1310," subsidiary dials for seconds and wind status are present, key-wound fusee movement, the instrument on gimbel mount under glass in a three-part lidded mahogany case having brass side handles and a key hole escutcheon, the lid's interior affixed with an early 20th century metal plate detailing proper shipping procedure.

The front panel of the case lid is missing its ivory maker's inlay; overall exterior wear and dings from normal use; case key missing; pinpoint flecks of white paint on the top; wood loss at one hinge. Currently not running.
