Lot Details & Additional Photographs
Circa 1860s, two soldiers take a confrontational pose with gloves at the ready while a third squats between them, possibly holding a watch. Note that both pugilists have striped britches and that one fellow's stripe is darker than the other's. Perhaps a long-forgotten bout between a cavalry trooper and an artillerist or an infantryman is commemorated here. Curiously, the third participant in this tableaux appears to be a mulatto. No case.
A few creases and minor blistering to the emulsion. Good condition overall.
