Lot Details & Additional Photographs
VIN # 2W87Z8N182588; Mileage: 96,960.
The Pontiac Trans Am is one of the most desired 1970s era muscle cars. 7,796 of the Y88 cars were made, however only 1,267 were equipped with a 4 speed manual transmission. Its rarity and one year production run account for part of its popularity. Most likely, however, this model's enduring popularity derives from its W72 Pontiac built 400 c.i. engine that produces 220 h.p., its factory 4 speed manual transmission, Radial Tuned Suspension, and T-Tops. This car was built in the Norwood, Ohio plant. This example had a repaint and interior redone in what appears to be the factory upholstery. The nose has been replaced, and the rims were reconditioned. The lower right rear quarter received bodywork when repainted. In 2013, with 94,714 miles, it received a major tune up that included, new exhaust, belts, spark plugs and wires, rear shocks, sway bar bushings, and the AC was repaired. The transmission was rebuilt in 1995 at 89,285 miles. A retro-looking modern stereo has also been added. A reproduction window sticker and copy of the build sheet is included.
